This Privacy Policy explains how Roof Simplified collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects information when you access or use the website, dashboard, estimate tools, billing features, PDF export tools, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

Roof Simplified is committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal data for users, customers, and business contacts using the platform. By creating an account, subscribing to paid features, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree with this policy, you must not use the Services. Roof Simplified may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

This Privacy Policy applies only to Roof Simplified’s own Services and does not apply to any third-party tools, integrations, or services used in connection with Roof Simplified.

For users in Canada and the United States, this Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, as they apply to cross-border data processing and service delivery, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Roof Simplified may process certain information in jurisdictions outside your home province or country in order to operate and secure the Services.

We collect information you provide directly to us, including your name, email address, phone number, account credentials, company name, business contact information, company logo, pricing defaults, saved estimates, project information, customer details, and uploaded documents or PDF content.

We also collect information generated through your use of the Services, such as estimate data, roofing measurements, material calculations, labor assumptions, tax settings, job history, saved estimate records, billing preferences, and account usage activity.

Technical and usage information may also be collected automatically, including IP address, device type, browser type, operating system, session details, pages visited, usage timestamps, application log data, crash reports, and information about interactions with the platform.

If you subscribe to paid features, we may process billing and subscription information through our payment provider, Stripe, including billing contact information and payment status. Roof Simplified does not receive or store full credit card numbers unless a payment processor expressly requires it and we have disclosed that practice in writing.

Your information may be processed or stored on servers located in jurisdictions other than your own. By using the Services, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in those jurisdictions.

If you provide personal information of third parties, including customer names, addresses, phone numbers, or project details, you represent that you have the lawful authority and legal basis to provide that information to Roof Simplified and to permit Roof Simplified to process it in connection with the Services.

We use your information to provide, operate, secure, maintain, and improve the Services, including account creation, authentication, estimating workflows, saved projects, billing, document generation, PDF output, customer support, and product support.

We may use your information to communicate with you about your account, subscriptions, renewals, invoices, security notices, service updates, functional changes, and support requests.

We may also use information for internal analytics, service quality monitoring, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, abuse detection, compliance, security investigations, and business operations related to the Services.

We do not sell personal information or Customer Content. We may use anonymized or aggregated data for product development and reporting, provided it cannot reasonably be used to identify you or your business.

Roof Simplified does not provide legal, financial, engineering, or professional advice. Any estimates, calculations, or outputs generated through the Services are informational only and must be independently verified by qualified personnel before being used for contracting, financial, or legal purposes. You assume full responsibility for all decisions made using the Services.

You retain ownership of the estimates, company information, roof data, customer records, pricing data, and other content you upload, create, store, or transmit through the Services ("Customer Content").

Roof Simplified processes Customer Content only as necessary to provide the Services, maintain functionality, prevent abuse, deliver PDFs, store saved projects, and fulfill our contractual and legal obligations.

You are responsible for ensuring that the Customer Content you provide does not violate any law, contract, or third-party right, including privacy, copyright, or confidentiality obligations. You represent and warrant that you have the authority to upload, transmit, and store that information in the Services.

If you include customer names, addresses, contact details, or other personal information in estimates or documents, you are responsible for determining whether you have a lawful basis to process that data and whether your use complies with applicable privacy laws. Roof Simplified does not determine whether your use of customer information complies with applicable privacy laws.

You agree that you are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary consent, notice, or legal authority before inputting, storing, or transmitting personal information of third parties through the Services, including customer information, job-site data, or contractor records.

We may share information with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate the platform, including providers for hosting, storage, authentication, analytics, email delivery, payment processing, PDF generation, and security monitoring.

We may disclose information to Stripe or other payment providers solely to process payments, manage subscriptions, and prevent fraud. Stripe may process personal and payment information under its own privacy policy.

We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, court order, subpoena, regulatory request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Roof Simplified, our users, or the public.

We do not share Customer Content with third parties for advertising or unrelated marketing purposes without your consent. We may share usage data in aggregated, de-identified form for product analysis and reporting.

If Roof Simplified is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or business transfer, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor entity will be required to protect your information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Roof Simplified works with subprocessors that may process personal data on our behalf. We will use commercially reasonable measures to select and monitor subprocessors and to ensure they are bound by appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.

Roof Simplified does not accept responsibility for your own independent collection, storage, or disclosure of customer data, and you remain solely responsible for the legality and compliance of your own data processing practices under applicable privacy laws in Canada and the United States.

Roof Simplified may use cookies, session identifiers, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, support security, and improve the user experience.

We may also use analytics tools to understand usage patterns, measure performance, and improve the Services. These tools may collect device and usage information through browser or application telemetry.

Roof Simplified cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures. You provide information at your own risk.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized use of your account, you must notify us immediately.

If a material security incident affects personal information that may pose a risk to you or your customers, we will notify you as required by applicable law and in a reasonable timeframe.

We retain information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, maintain account functionality, meet contractual obligations, resolve disputes, support billing, and comply with legal records requirements.

If you delete your account, we may remove or deactivate your personal data and Customer Content in accordance with our deletion procedures, subject to data retention obligations, legal hold requirements, or security and backup retention periods.

Some information may remain in backups or system logs for a limited time even after deletion or deactivation. We will delete or anonymize such information when reasonably practicable.

We may retain certain information even after account deletion if required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our agreements.

If you request deletion of personal information, we will process the request in accordance with applicable law, but some information may be retained where permitted or required by law, including records needed for billing, account security, or legal claims.

Your business remains responsible for making sure that the collection, storage, and use of customer and job information through the Services complies with applicable law, including any contractual, privacy, or data retention obligations owed to your own clients.

Roof Simplified uses commercially reasonable technical and operational security measures, but no platform can guarantee complete immunity from unauthorized access, compromise, data loss, or misuse. Security safeguards may fail or be bypassed, and we cannot guarantee that information will never be exposed or accessed by unauthorized parties.

You acknowledge that the internet, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations may experience faults, outages, or cyber incidents beyond Roof Simplified’s control. Roof Simplified is not responsible for data loss or privacy incidents caused by external attacks, user error, insecure third-party integrations, or your own failure to maintain proper account security.

You should maintain your own backup procedures, access controls, and internal policies for handling sensitive customer and business information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law, technology, or our business practices. If you continue to use the Services after changes to this Privacy Policy take effect, you agree to the revised policy.
